JD12501 U.S. NAVY F6F-3 #2 OF VF-27 HELLCAT AIRPLANE The Sea Blue on the top and white on the bottom were used to compromise between very dark clouds and bright clear skies when being viewed from below. The middle blue is used to blend the top and bottom colors together. This color scheme was maintained until March of 1944 when the Hellcats were painted Glossy Sea Blue all over. This airplane is a limited edition metal die-cast replica that measures approx. 11 1/2 inches in wing span, features rotating prop and rubber wheels, custom detail cowling, quality tampo graphics, hidden coin bank and folding wings!
